St Andrew’s Frognal United Reformed Church (postcode NW3 7DY) is a prominent building on the corner of Finchley Road and Frognal Lane (opposite West End Lane).
Do not be confused by another road called Frognal further down Finchley Road. St Andrew’s is on the corner of Frognal Lane, NOT Frognal.
The area is well served by various public transport, though the roads can be congested, particularly during weekdays when parking is also difficult.
By Bus
London buses 13, from North Finchley, and 113, from Edgware, stop right outside the church, heading south down the Finchley Road into central London. Heading north the nearest stop is about 100 metres south of the church.
By Train and Underground
Finchley Road is the nearest underground station, on the Metropolitan and Jubilee lines. This is on the Finchley Road about 15 minutes walk or a short bus ride south of the church.
There is a train station at Finchley Road and Frognal on the London Overground with services east towards Camden, Highbury and Stratford and services south and west towards Clapham Junction and Richmond. This station is also on Finchley Road, less than 10 minutes walk south of the church.
Just slightly further away there is a train station at West Hampstead, about 15 minutes walk down West End Lane. From here Thameslink trains go to a wide variety of destinations north and south of London, and the station is also on the London Overground. West Hampstead is also on the Jubilee Line for underground services from Stanmore through to Waterloo, London Bridge and Stratford.
By car
The church itself has no car-park. There is a single parking space in the main church entrance on Frognal Lane, but this is for emergency use only. There is also no parking directly outside the church, though for disabled people drop-off on Frognal Lane is normally possible. On Sundays and in the evenings there is normally a reasonable amount of parking in side streets near the church, but on weekdays in the daytime this is mostly ‘residents only’. Free parking for one hour is, however, possible on the west side of the Finchley Road opposite the church.
Disabled access
Disabled access is provided at the entrance higher up Frognal Lane, where a ramp can be provided and steps avoided. There is also a slope for wheelchairs up to the hall entrance on Frognal Lane. A disabled toilet is readily accessible from the main body of the church.
